Facade & Cladding Materials
ACP, Stone, Terracotta & GFRC Cladding for Commercial & Premium Projects
A building's facade defines its architectural identity, protects its structure from weather, and contributes to thermal and fire safety performance. From ACP (Aluminium Composite Panels) — mandatory in FR or A2 fire-resistant grade for buildings above 15m — to natural stone, terracotta, and GFRC panels for premium facades, the right cladding system must balance aesthetics, wind load resistance, and compliance with NBC 2016 fire safety requirements. Buildigo connects facade contractors and developers with verified cladding suppliers. Share your panel type, fire rating, area, and finish specifications to receive competitive quotes.
Types & Grades
Types of Facade & Cladding Systems
ACP — FR Grade (Fire Resistant)
Aluminium Composite Panels with a mineral-filled fire-resistant core meeting Class 1 surface spread of flame. Mandatory per NBC 2016 for building exteriors above 9m height. Available in PVDF and polyester paint systems; PVDF offers 15+ year UV and chalking resistance for long-term facade durability.
A2 Non-Combustible ACP (High-Rise Compliant)
ACP panels with a non-combustible mineral core meeting EN 13501-1 Class A2 fire classification. Required for high-rise buildings (above 45m or as specified by state fire codes) and fire-sensitive applications. Eliminates fire spread risk through the facade envelope.
Natural Stone Cladding (Granite & Sandstone)
Granite and sandstone panels for premium residential, commercial, and institutional facades. External cladding panels are 20–30mm thick, fixed to MS or SS 316 anchor systems with dowel or back-fix connections. Granite offers the highest durability and zero maintenance; sandstone provides a warm natural texture.
Terracotta Cladding Panels
Factory-fired extruded clay panels for building exteriors installed as open-jointed ventilated rainscreen systems. The ventilated cavity drains moisture and provides a thermal buffer. Natural clay colour is UV stable with zero paint maintenance. Available in widths of 150–600mm, lengths up to 1200mm.
GFRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) Panels
Lightweight precast concrete composite panels reinforced with alkali-resistant glass fibres. At 10–15mm thickness and 1800–2000 kg/m³ density, GFRC panels weigh approximately 18–20 kg/m² — 75% lighter than solid precast. Used for complex architectural shapes, decorative cornices, column cladding, and heritage-style facade elements.
