Plywood, Boards & Laminates
IS-Graded Plywood, MDF & Laminates for Interiors and Formwork
Plywood, engineered boards, and laminates are fundamental to interior joinery, furniture, modular kitchens, and concrete formwork in construction. From moisture-resistant MR grade plywood (IS 303) for dry interior furniture to BWP marine-grade panels (IS 710) for kitchens and wet areas, and film-faced shuttering plywood for reusable concrete forms, the right selection determines structural performance, surface quality, and cost efficiency. Buildigo connects construction teams and interior contractors with trusted plywood manufacturers and distributors. Share your grade, thickness, and quantity requirements to receive competitive bulk quotes.
Types & Grades
Types of Plywood & Board Products
Commercial MR Grade Plywood (IS 303)
Moisture-resistant (MR) plywood bonded with urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin. Suitable for dry interior environments — bedroom furniture, wardrobes, storage units. Available in standard thicknesses: 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 18mm, 25mm. Face veneer species: Gurjan or Eucalyptus for superior surface quality. E1 formaldehyde emission class for indoor air quality compliance.
BWR / BWP Marine Plywood (IS 710)
BWR (Boiling Water Resistant) and BWP (Boiling Water Proof) plywood bonded with phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resin. IS 710 BWP plywood is mandatory for kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and wet area joinery where sustained moisture exposure is a concern. Superior bond strength and anti-fungal treatment standard.
Film-Faced Shuttering Plywood
Heavy-duty construction plywood with a phenolic film (brown or black) laminated on both faces. Designed for 10–20 reuse cycles in concrete formwork with a smooth, release-friendly surface. Available in 12mm, 16mm, and 19mm thickness. The film coating prevents concrete adhesion and protects the face veneer from wear.
Block Board
Block board consists of a core of solid timber strips (30–40mm wide) sandwiched between veneer layers. Lighter than equivalent-thickness plywood and more resistant to bending along the core direction — preferred for long-span shelving, table tops, and door blanks.
MDF & HDF Boards
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and High Density Fibreboard (HDF) are uniform engineered panels with smooth surfaces ideal for painting, lacquering, and routing detailed profiles. MDF is the standard substrate for modular furniture, wall paneling, and skirting boards. Available in moisture-resistant (MR) grade for kitchen and bathroom applications.
Decorative Laminates & Veneers
High-pressure laminates (HPL) applied over plywood, MDF, or block board for finished furniture surfaces. Available in 0.8mm (standard) and 1.0mm (heavy-duty) thickness in hundreds of solid colours, wood grains, and textures. Natural veneer face panels offer genuine wood aesthetics for premium interiors.
